🛡️ Your Rights and Protections Against Surprise Medical Bills
At Galaxy Brain and Therapy Center, we want you to feel safe and supported—financially as well as medically. That’s why we want to make sure you understand your rights under the No Surprises Act, a federal law that protects you from unexpected medical bills in certain situations.
What Is the No Surprises Act?
The No Surprises Act protects you from balance billing—also known as surprise billing—in the following situations:
-
Emergency services at any out-of-network facility
-
Non-emergency services provided by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or surgical center
In these cases, you won’t be charged more than your in-network cost-sharing amounts (like copays, coinsurance, or deductibles). You’re also never required to pay extra for emergency services received from an out-of-network provider.
You’re Protected From:
-
Surprise out-of-network bills in covered emergencies
-
Out-of-network charges at in-network hospitals and surgical centers (for most services)
-
Being asked to waive your rights unless you’ve chosen to get care from an out-of-network provider in advance
